As you approach the Siena House from Bettolle, passing through Tenuta La Fratta the horizon is superb; see Montepulciano, Torrita di Siena and Sinalunga high up on their ‘rocks’, extinct volcano Cetona looming in the distance… a ‘row’ of Leopoldina style farm houses in the higher mid ground (of which this house is the final one) and finally beautiful medieval hamlet Amorosa.

Siena House is situated in the ‘sweet hills’ close to Sinalunga, Bettolle & Torrita with long views out over the Val di Chiana to the Apenines on one side (Cortona & Perugia rooms) This side of the house has a fascinating history: prehistoric inland sea down below; Etruscan lake and Renaissance Wetlands, transformed into richest farmland by Leonardo da Vinci and the Medicis. On the other side of the property (Montepulciano & Siena rooms) we look out over a hunting reserve and farmland to the ridge of hills that separate the Val di Chiana from the Val d’Orcia, the Orcia Chiana Ridge.
