Hill Town Lucignano
Lucignano in the province of Arezzo, is a pretty Tuscan hill town that feels un touristy and more genuine than many. High up in the Val di Chiana, with (as most) Etruscan roots, Lucignano captures the last rays of sun and glitters rose – pink in the distance as you see it from the house. Close enough at 15 minutes away, worth heading out to just for an ice cream and a stroll on a hot summer’s evening. Perhaps also more beautiful on a Summer’s day than during a pause in the Winter rain (when we went) Lucignano also combines well with a trip to Arezzo and well enough with Cortona.
