Road to Montalcino: Lucignano d’Asso
Lucignano d’Asso a tiny hill town about 30 mins away from the Siena House, more or less en route to Montalcino. When we go in the Summer we love a lazy lunch at the Alimentari (general store) in the tiny town ‘centre’
Lunch at the store is simple and very good. There’s no menu – take a seat – you’ll be served a selection of local cheeses, Prosciutto, Salami, maybe a little Melon and Salad. Here you can eat way past the standard 2 pm end of lunch service – which is super if you’ve taken a late breakfast and are heading out late afternoon to a Brunello tasting and tour.
Once you’re back on the road to Montalcino you’ll be in the Montalcino centre in about 20 minutes. These are Winter photos.
